Jenae Martinson is a self-taught artist living in Valdez, Alaska.
Jenae is a self-taught artist who works in a variety of mediums to share her perspective and love of the outdoors. Her artwork is inspired and sculpted by her surroundings and connections to the intense landscape. Aside from her more technical drawings, she enjoys creating pieces that are bright, colorful, and feature high-contrast accents to draw people in and provide an escape.
Jenae was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. She sold her first painting while attending Sitka Fine Arts Camp. She left Juneau to attend college in Oregon. After graduation, she took a road trip around Alaska, where she happened to meet her husband in Valdez. His passion for hunting and flying has created new perspectives that have led to unique artistic opportunities for Jenae.
When she is not creating art, you can find her knitting, hiking, fishing, exploring the outdoors and working as a nurse at the local hospital.
